Canada Power Products plays a key role in the renewable energy market of Wind Farms by supplying compact switchgear for turbine generator step-up transformer protection, installed at the bottom of wind tower. The switchgear is designed to go through a typical 24" wide door opening of a wind tower.
These types of switchgears are installed in many wind farms throughout North America. The installation illustrated is a 30 Megawatt Wind Farm, located in Atlantic Canada. We supplied 17 switchgears to provide switch way and transformer protection to the seventeen - 1.8MW wind turbines.
In this case, Canada Power Products is an integral part of the clean renewable energy solution that supplies energy need of 13,000 average Canadian homes and will displace about 90,000 tons of CO2 per year. This is equivalent to taking 16,000 cars off the road per year.
