Incorporating state-of-the-art vacuum interruption technology into a compact, submersible, molded epoxy housing, Canada Power Products Corporation has designed and tested a dead-front Epoxy switch, rated for full submersion, that can be used in a variety of applications.
Construction
The Epoxy switch uses CIBA-GEIGY® 229 epoxy resin to encapsulate the vacuum-interruption components. The result is a void-free, extremely durable system impervious to environmental contamination. It provides excellent mechanical and electrical properties, exceptional fracture toughness, and outstanding thermal endurance.

Features
Padlockable in "open" or closed position Red/Green "open/close" position indicator is attached to the moving shaft of the vacuum interrupter providing positive status indication Integral mounting brackets and lifting eyes. Motor operation available with connection to SCADA RTU.
Switch Mechanism
Switch operation is quick-make, quick-break using a high speed magnetic actuator. Mechanism is hermetically sealed in a corrosion-resistant, submersible, stainless steel compartment.
Fuse Protection
State-of-the-art epoxy insulated current limiting fuses with ratings from 6A to 140A can be added to the Epoxy switch to provide transformer protection
