SALES ENGINEER MEXICO
Overview of the Position
Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Sales Engineer will promote, sell and secure new business in territories assigned.
Responsibilities
• Develop in new territories and markets the full potential of customers and obtain product line acceptance.
• Demonstrate products, make presentations and assist prospects in the selection of products best suited to their needs.
• Ensure customers have up to date literature or other support materials as appropriate.
• Familiarize established customers with new products or services and developments.
• Coordinate and assist in providing the services of the sales and engineering staff to determine customer needs.
• With assistance of application engineers, ensure the complete, accurate and timely submission of quotations that include product descriptions, prices, deliveries, terms of sale and warranty.
• Provide input in determining strategy for major bids to other members of the sales force, to home office or others as appropriate.
• Ensure orders are placed at the highest possible profit level.
• Keep expenses as low as possible while achieving bookings and profit targets.
• Accept orders subject to approval.
• Investigate and notify company of competitive products, promotions, selling techniques, warranties and marketing policies.
• Secure and report bid results including competitive prices, product descriptions, deliveries, special terms, etc. and whether the order was won or lost.
• Assist alliance partners with sales functions necessary to secure the business.
• Assist in negotiations with alliance partners and potential alliance partners.
• Submit reports detailing activities, sales volume and expenses in a timely manner.
• Provide forecast and budget information as appropriate.
• Secure release of orders held for approval (or otherwise delayed).
• Take appropriate and timely actions with customers as required for the collection of outstanding invoices.
• Perform initial fact-finding relating to equipment problems in the field. Follow up with engineers or others as appropriate.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent combination of work experience and skill development
• 3+ years experience in electrical sales
• Relationships with CFE would be a definite asset
• Communication skills, verbal and written, in English and languages pertinent to the assigned territory
• Excellent organization and attention to detail skills
