MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Overview of the Position

- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will design custom solutions to match customer specifications from selection, design, integration and commissioning of mechanical-electrical products (switchgears).
- Responsibilities
- Review and understand design requirements of customized products
- Participate in design review when necessary
- Plan and complete defined design work per schedule
- Choose correct modular subassemblies and configurations of the product
- Design and modify the layout and package of the subassemblies to meet the design requirement
- Detail and draft new parts required for the new design
- Prepare mechanical drawings with dimensions, tolerance and bill of material
- Design, program and test controller
- Update schedule and database
- Prepare production documentation
- Verify and validate other designers work
- Support production and QA
- Process engineering change notices

Key Qualifications and Competencies

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years experience in mechanical engineering design
- Good understanding of automatic mechanical equipment
- Working experience with AutoCAD and solid modeling (Inventor/Pro-E)
- Good team player and quick learner
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate activities with diverse tasks and demanding schedules
- Fluent in both verbal and written English
